Art Gallery In South End Hosts Exhibit All About JOY

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Beginning September 17th, Elder Gallery of Contemporary Art in Charlotte will host an exhibition featuring four-game changing artists who embrace and embody joy.

Art gallery officials say the JOY exhibit, held from September 17th through December 4th, will unveil how innate joy fuels the four artists’ individual artwork and collaborative creativity while taking a deep dive into relationships, collaboration, and the transformative power of women coming together.

“Joy is an attitude of the heart and spirit, deeply rooted within us as an untapped reservoir of potential. It cannot be exhausted because it is innate. And this innate joy is a radical act – it upends the whole system of how we perceive ourselves in the world in order to start anew. It changes the game,” Elder Gallery officials say.

The four artists participating in the JOY exhibit include:

  1. Lo’Vonia Parks. FB: @lovoniaparks
  2. Windy O’Connor. FB: @windyoconnorofficial
  3. Carla Aaron-Lopez. @whoiskingcarla
  4. Erin Comerford Miller. @ErinComerfordPhotography
