Boil Advisory Issued For Caldwell County Residents

CALDWELL CO., N.C. — Residents of Caldwell County are being asked to boil their water used for consumption for at least one minute until further notice due to low pressure in the water system.

Water consumers in Caldwell County are experiencing periods of low pressure and higher than normal turbidities in the distribution system due to treatment process/equipment problems at the Water Treatment Plant.

Officials say these periods of low or no pressure increases the potential for back siphonage and introduction of bacteria into the water system.

Therefore, officials are advising water consumers to boil all water used for consumption or use bottled water for the time being.

Officials say vigorous boiling for one minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be in the water.
