Detectives say two teenagers have been charged for the murder of Daniel Vergara, 31, after he was killed almost a year ago in northwest Charlotte.
Thanks to continued investigative efforts, Trinity Thompson, 19, and Zavia Jeter, 19, were identified as suspects in this case and were issued warrants for their arrest on December 7th, 2021, according to a news release.
Police say both teenagers were arrested and taken into custody the following Wednesday morning.
Both suspects have been charged with Murder and Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon for their involvement, according to a news release.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg detectives say 31-year-old Daniel Vergara died in the hospital on Saturday from injuries he received on December 17th in northwest Charlotte.
On Thursday, December 17th officers say they responded to reports of someone needing medical attention shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Valcourt Road, and found Vergara with apparent trauma lying in the roadway.
Detectives say Vergara was taken to a local hospital for life-threatening injuries where he died only two days later.
