CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Detectives are searching for the suspect of a fatal hit-and-run collision after a pedestrian died from injuries sustained in the crash on Wednesday.
Detectives say the crash occurred around 6 p.m. November 4th on The Plaza in east Charlotte.
When officers arrived at the scene of the collision, they say they located a seriously injured pedestrian lying the roadway and learned the vehicle that struck the pedestrian had fled the scene.
Police say the victim, 60-year-old Van Nguyen, was taken to a local hospital following the crash to be treated for life-threatening injuries.
Nguyen was pronounced dead on December 1st, according to a news release.
Initial investigation reveals that Nguyen was crossing the street when he was struck by a grey, four-door Acura.
