Edge On The Clock: Portland Officials Name New Bridge After Simpsons Character


CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Officials in the city of Portland, Oregon have decided to name its newest bike and pedestrian bridge after The Simpson’s character, Ned Flanders. It’s called Ned Flanders Crossing. The $9.5 million dollar project is the latest in a series of projects in the state honoring TV’s longest running show and its creator, Matt Groening, who’s a native Portlander.

Plus, excitement is brewing in Lincoln, Rhode Island as the movie set for Hocus Pocus 2 begins to go up. Like magic, crews are transforming Chase Farm Park in Providence County into a 1600s-era movie set.

And, Ed Sheeran is weighing in on American award shows. The singer revealed his feelings on Audacy’s The Julia Show, explaining that the atmosphere at them “uncomfortable,” compared to British award shows.
