Free, Virtual QPR Suicide Prevention Training On November 20th

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Ask a question, save a life. On Saturday, November 20th take two hours out of your day to attend a free, virtual QPR suicide prevention training session with mental health advocate Fonda Bryant of Charlotte.

QPR stands for Question, Persuade, Refer, and is the acronym used for gateway training in suicide prevention.

When it comes to saving the life of someone in a mental health crisis, experts say QPR is the same as CPR training.

Officials say the training session, held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., will educate participants in basic suicide prevention and how to support those who may be at risk of suicide.

Bryant says “Education is the key to stopping suicide. Suicide is EVERYBODY’S business and anyone can prevent the tragedy and heartache of losing someone to suicide. You don’t have to be a professional. Caring can and will save a life.”
