Veteran’s Day Rain and Storms
It’s shaping up to be another well above average day of temps. Highs will once again reach the upper 70s under mainly sunny skies. Clouds will build through the evening as a cold front approaches from the west. Veteran’s Day will bring showers and a line of rain and storms ahead of the cold front. Morning parades and celebrations should go off without a problem, but any afternoon events may have some issues with showers. The pop needed for any severe weather is missing, but a couple of storms might still be possible Thursday night. Drought conditions are back for the first time since spring, drought has returned to the area. 1/2″ to 1″ of rainfall looks likely. Although this won’t remove the drought, it will certainly help. Showers will taper off early Friday morning with highs reaching the upper 60s Saturday afternoon.
Cooler Weekend, Snow Possible for the Mountains Late Sunday
Much cooler air returns this weekend with highs dropping into the mid-50s by Sunday. Another reinforcing cold front will move through the region late Sunday into Monday. Although this won’t pack much moisture, we will likely see some snow for the mountains with a dusting to up to 1″ possible for elevations above 3500′ by Monday morning. It will be sunny and cool next week with highs in the upper 50s and lows falling to the low to mid-30s.
