ROCK HILL, S.C. — Police are investigating after a man said he was stabbed with a screwdriver, strangled with a seatbelt, and robbed in Rock Hill Monday night.
The victim informed Rock Hill police that he was riding in a Nissan with three other men after cashing checks from work. As they drove to Anderson Road the victim stated the driver of the vehicle proceeded to stab him multiple times with a screwdriver. At the same time the back seat passengers attempted to strangle him with the seat belt, the victim said.
The suspects were able to take the victim’s wallet before he fled the vehicle and called the police.
When officers observed the victim around 7:20 p.m. on Anderson Road, they saw several stab wounds consistent with a screwdriver to both of victim’s arms along with redness on his neck.
The victim was taken by ambulance to PMC for non-life-threatening injuries.
This incident is under investigation by the Rock Hill Police Department Criminal Investigations Division.
