AM Headlines:
- High Fire Danger Today (Elevated the rest of the week as RH increases)
- Sunny and Warmer
- Dry Weather Continues through early next week
Discussion:
Fire Danger Level will be high once again today. The NC Statewide burn ban will remain in place until we get significant rainfall. Dry, but not as breezy today with highs reaching the mid-60s this afternoon. High pressure will slide off the Georgia coast allowing for some clouds to return to the forecast through the end of the week, however, rain is not in the cards for us. Highs will reach the low to mid-70s Thursday through Saturday. A cold front will knock temps back into the low 60s Sunday. Another quick-moving boundary late Monday will bring isolated showers for the mountains, but rain chances not looking great for anyone else.
Pilot Mountain Fire Update as of Nov 30:
1050 acres burned
20% contained
No structures damaged as fire remains within the state park
As of now no animals have been harmed
