Wintry Chill Lurks Ahead

Beautiful fall weather has greeted us to start November, but it may feel more like winter by the time the week is said and done. Cold air from the north has begun to pool across the western half of the Carolinas, pairing with increasing clouds to bring temperatures 10-15° below normal for our Thursday. Many locations will struggle to get out of the 30s and 40s for much of the penultimate day of the workweek.

As low pressure builds in from the southwest, precipitation chances will increase overnight into Thursday morning. While most of us will only see rain, some sleet may mix in early in the Piedmont and Foothills. Nothing will accumulate but take it easy on the roads for your Thursday morning commute. The High Country could see a few snow showers throughout Thursday morning and afternoon, but totals will largely end up under one inch.

Tonight: Clouds build. Rain late. Low: 42º. Wind: NE 5-10.

Thursday: AM light rain. Some sleet may mix in early. PM clearing. High: 48°. Wind: NE 5-10.

Thursday Night: Clear and cold. Low: 34°. Wind: NE 5-10.

Friday: Cool sunshine. High: 57°. Wind: NE 5-10.
